MCoOL is excited to announce our new state-wide volunteer project, and we're calling it the Minnesota Volunteer Project (MVP).
On Thursday, December 4, 2008 we have invited MCoOL students, their family and friends, along with our MCoOL teachers, to participate in a few hours of valuable service to the community.
Our inaugural MVP will be held in partnership with the Minnesota Literacy Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving literacy throughout our state. Elementary schools located within five cities throughout Minnesota will simultaneously host our one-day events, where volunteers will tutor and read with students in grades K-3. Our events will be held in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, St. Cloud, and Duluth.
MVP is also a great way for MCoOL to kickoff a course elective called Community Enrichment. MCoOL is now offering this elective which offers students valuable course credit for participating in local community volunteer projects. Students will earn credit by accruing 90 hours of volunteering in local projects of their choice. Learn more now about the Community Enrichment elective.
How can you participate or support this volunteer event? If you haven't signed up to participate on December 4, 2008, or want to inquire about future volunteer events, contact us by email at or call Kelly Beckman at 877-984-7587, option 4.
MCoOL Expands Leadership TeamWe're excited to announce that our leadership team has expanded! As a result of growing MCoOL enrollments and with continued efforts to provide the very best program leadership team, it's our pleasure to introduce you to Dean Gunnarson, Principal of MCoOL.
