Like a traditional school, MCoOL students must fulfill a total number of credits and complete specific Minnesota state testing requirements in order to earn a Minnesota high school diploma.
Listed below are the credits required by the state of Minnesota and the Houston Public Schools' Board of Education for a student to graduate from high school.
High School Graduation RequirementsOne credit will be earned for each successful course completed. Six classes per semester or twelve credits per year will be earned. Upon earning 12 credits, the student will be classified as a sophomore. Upon earning 24 credits, the student will become a junior. Earning 36 credits will classify the student as a senior. MCoOL requires 48 credits be earned to graduate.

For students graduating in 2009, 2010, and 2011:
